Roslyn started square dancing in 1973 at the Sparkilate Club with Fred & Elizabeth Meads where she danced for five years. In 1986 Ron & Roslyn taught one to two beginner classes every year at Endeavour Squares, initially at Narwee and later at Beverly Hills. In 1990 Ron took over the Ghostriders club, and he and Roslyn continued teaching beginners until 1997. Not only has Roslyn assisted new dancers but continues to be actively involved with assisting new dancers learning ‘A level’ at Toukley for the past three years.
Roslyn has been active at the state level since 1993 when she and Ron were convenors of the 17th state convention at Parklea. Roslyn has convened the 31st NSW State convention at Wellington and the 34th at Kiama in 2012. Not only has she convened three state conventions but has been responsible for the amazing decorations at four state conventions. Roslyn was honoured with Life Membership to the Square Dance Society in 2005. In 2007 she became President of the Square Dance Society of NSW and was one of the most travelled Presidents in the Society’s history.
At the national level, Roslyn has been able to showcase her creative talents at three National Conventions as Decorations Manager. During her time as President of the NSW Society she was delegate to the National Society of Australia.
