About

Janice Alexander has been involved in square dancing in Victoria and Nationally since taking on the Whitehorse Square Dance Club in 1991 as club caller, initially with her sister, then solo for more than 33 years. 
She is dedicated to club calling and has run Whitehorse weekly for the past 34 years and Kaleidoscope Squares fortnightly on Saturday evenings for over 20 years. 

Janice continues to promote square dancing by calling for demonstrations and doing ‘one night show’ introducing non dancers to square dancing.

Janice has been involved with the VCA since the early 90s and has been on the Executive Committee serving as Secretary for many years and she is the current President. 
She has served as President for 19 of the past 25 years. 
She has served on many State Convention Committees as Program Manager and has supported most VSDA state functions for the past 36 years. 

A few years back Janice’s contribution was recognised by the VCA when she was award Life Membership. 

Janice has served on the 2000 (Secretary), 2005 (Program Manager) and 2017 (Program Manager) National Conventions and is currently the Convenor for the upcoming 2027 National in Ballarat.

Janice has shown her commitment to square dancing by attending and calling at every National Convention since 1995.

Janice is a Board Member of the Australian Callers Federation and is currently the State Coordinator for Victoria. 
She has shown her commitment to square dancing by attend all the Mini Labs and ACF Caller Conferences since 1995.

I feel Janice’s contribution to square dancing in Victoria and National makes her a more than worthy nominee for the NSDSA Roll of Honour.
