SQUARE DANCE HISTORY.

1952 . .. Commenced Dancing in November. over the next years danced at South Steyne/ Mosman/ Balgowlah/ North Sydney/ Terry Hi  ls/ Collaroy Plateau. Visited other clubs.(Met Santo at Blue Pacific Club, Rose Bay.)

1970 .. Danced with Vince Spi I lane at his “Cloud Nine Club” (a fore runner of Plus Clubs) at RoseviIle.

1972 … Moved to Canberra. (No dancing till earI y 1977 when we tracked down Yellow Rock after a six month search!)

1977 … Attended 18th Australian National Square Dance Convention, in Sydney.

Have attended every Aust. National since ’77 except 1989 in Tasmania. when I was i II in HospitaI. 22 Conventions in all.

1978 … Was a foundation Member of the A.C.T. Square Dance Society.involved in drafting of the Constitution of the A.C.T.S.D.S.

Between 1979 and 1990 held positions on A.C.T.S.D.S. Executive Committee of; Vice President (4 years), President (4 years).
Secretary (2 years), Social Convener (1 year).
Assisted with beginner groups at clubs and for the Society until 1990.
1979 … Was an inaugural Member of the National Square Dance Society of Australia.Involved in the drafting of the first onstitution of that Group and in Iater up-dates.
1982 … Became Secretary of the N.S.D.S. of A. untill1989
984 … Accommodation Officer for 25th Si Iver Jubilee Nat. Convention. (’82 to ’84)
1986 . . . 1988 Involved in the set up and running of the Bicentennial Square Dance Award Scheme.
Achieved a Gold Award.
1989 .Vice-President of the N.S.D.S. of A. until 1996
1992 .A.C.T.S.D.S. presented me with a SiIver Tray to recognise my 40 years of Square Dancing.
1994  Creche Co-ordinator for 1994 Aust. National Convention. (1991 -1994)
1996 President of the N.S.D.S. of A. .. Still in this Office.

Round Dance History.
1984 to present Assist with teaching and organising at Moonspinners Round Dance Club, run by husband, Santo.
1990 Joined Australian Round Dance Association.
1992 President of Australian Round Dance Association. (A.R.D.A.) to 1994. Involved in the re-vamp of the A.R.D.A.Constitution.

EDUCATIONAL.
1972 to present. .. As a Teacher employed in the A.C.T. I have given numerous
In-Service Courses and Lectures in Music for Young Children.
1972  to present ..M ember of the A.C.T.Teachers’ Federation. (Later called the Australian Education Union. A.C.T.Branch.)
1979 to 1996. Served on A.C.T.T.F Branch Committees as President, Vice President or Council Delegate or Alternate Council Delegate.
1988 …to 1989 Preschool Delegate to the A. C.T.T.F. Executive Committee.
1994 to 1997 Inaugural Member of the Preschool Teachers’ Professional Association. (P.T.P.A.) Assisted in the drafting of their Constitution.

THEATRE I DRAMA I MUSICAL.

1973 to 1977 Canberra Childrens’ Theatre. Made Costumes. Assisted in Workshops.
1975 to 1978 Participated in Arts Council Singing Groups
1979 to 1982. Member of St. Edmund’s Performing Arts Group. Designed and made Costumes. Did Choreography. Did Stage Make-up. Directed a Three Act Drama.
1996 to present. Joined Queanbeyan Players Inc. Involved in Performance, Design Costumes. Sew Costumes. Front of House Duties. Supper Duties.
1997 to present. On Management Committee of Queanbeyan Players as Secretary.
1998 to present. Member of Woden Senior Singers. Involving Weekly practice and weekly visits to Nursing Homes and Aged Groups to perform.
1999 Involved in up-date of the Queanbeyan Players’ Constitution.
1999 Volunteer Music Teacher once Weekly at Wanniassa Preschool. (grandson attends)
1999 Volunteer assisting in weekly Community Singing Groups in 2 Nursing Homes.

CHURCH

1975 to present. Member of St Jude’s Church Choir.
1990 to present Member of Church Cleaning Roster.
1990 to 1998 participated in Study Programs.
