Jeff Seidel really needs no introduction to most Square Dancers in Australia. Jeff has been a caller at club level for over 28 years, has been on the SA Square Dance Society committee for just over 15 years and has served on the National level for almost 21 years.
He was Convenor at two National Conventions, has been President of the Australian Callers Federation, President of the South Australian Callers Association, President of the SASDS, Vice-President, club rep, caller liaison, caller teacher.
He calls Square dancing from Basic to A2 and done over 21 learners classes.
Jeff has taken up Youth Group development officer and patron.

Jeff is, in my opinion, a very deserving recipient for the Roll of Honour.
Jeff has served Square Dancers and Square Dancing for over 28 years.

I have known Jeff Seidel for twenty-seven years, having learned to dance at his club. 

Square dancing is Jeff’s passion. He has devoted at least four evenings a week to three clubs – mainstream, plus and advanced as well as running mainstream learner’s classes almost every year. 

His plus club was the second such club established in Adelaide and the advanced was the first at that level 

As well he supports Society Dances and State and National Conventions. In addition he gives his time to caning at fund raising dances for charities. 

He is active in various square bodies, serving as an officer from time to time on most bodies. 

He has attended every State Convention since the first and every National Convention since he started square dancing. 

I have lost count of the number of mainstream learner’s classes that Jeff has held. He is totally committed to the principal that callers have a duty to run such classes to ensure the future of square dancing. He must have taught over a thousand people to dance mainstream. 

His contribution and influence in square dancing in South Australia has been considerable. 

I commend Jeff Seidel as a person worthy to be added to the Square Dance Roll of Honor.
