From Western Australia – Inducted in 2026

About

Celia has demonstrated exceptional dedication and long-standing service to the square
dancing community across both Western Australia and nationally for more than three decades.
Her leadership journey began in 1993 when she joined the Western Australia Square Dance
Society’s committee as Assistant Secretary.
In 1994 she was elected Junior Vice President,
followed by her service as Senior Vice President from 1995 to 1997.
During this period, Celia also contributed at national level, serving as the Western Australian delegate to the National Square Dance Society of Australia in 1996 and being elected Vice President of the NSDSA for 1997–1998.
Celia’s commitment to supporting major events was clearly demonstrated in 2002 when she
served as Venue Manager for the 43rd National Square Dance Convention held in Mandurah,
Western Australia.
Continuing her significant contribution to the Western Australia Square Dance Society, Celia
was elected to the Management Committee in 2007, served as Junior Vice President in 2008–
2009, and from 2010 to 2019 fulfilled the important role of Tours Coordinator.
Her outstanding organisational skills and reliability were further evident through her long tenure as Secretary from 2013 to 2024. She continues to support the Society today as Assistant Secretary.

At national level, Celia again represented Western Australia as delegate to the National Square
Dance Society of Australia in 2011.
Since 2012, she has provided invaluable continuity and leadership as Secretary of the National Square Dance Society of Australia, a role she continues to hold.

In 2024, Celia, together with her husband Chris, served as Venue Managers for the 64th
National Square Dance Convention held in Darwin, further demonstrating their commitment to
the success of square dancing events across Australia.

Celia’s sustained dedication, leadership, and willingness to serve wherever needed have made
a significant and lasting contribution to the square dancing community.
Her decades of voluntary service, organisational expertise, and commitment at both State and National levels make her a most worthy recipient of Honour Roll recognition.

We proudly acknowledge Celia’s outstanding service and congratulate her on being
recognised as an Honour Roll recipient.
